Property and Rating is our database where customer requests (CRMs) are created. It also holds information on the people who live here, their animals, land, rates, and addresses. The upgrade will be completed in four stages over roughly three years. We’re working towards Stage 1A at the moment, which will see us transfer our district’s people, property information and CRMs into the new system - this will launch Tuesday, August 26.

CRMs are an essential tool in providing great customer experiences. They help us keep track and follow through with our customers’ requests for information. To give you some idea of the scale involved, since July 2024 over 32,000 CRMs have been raised in our current system. That’s a lot! The majority of these were to book building inspections and enquire about rates, water, recycling and animals. When it’s all done, the upgrades to P&R will allow for a more streamlined, customer focused system, where all their information is kept in one secure place. This will help us see all the touchpoints a person has with council, so we can provide an exceptional experience, while reducing admin and duplication of work for us.
